Welcome to Fumio's Bone Art Gallery!!

Fumio is a Japanese artisan carver who lives in Nelson, New Zealand, AOTEAROA.

He started carving in the year 2000 under the guidance of David Paki who is a Maori Carving Teacher.

Fumio, a descendant of Japanese Samurai (believed since 13th century) started carving traditional Japanese NETSUKE in 2007. He uses cow bone, deer antler, hard woods, ivory or anything similar to horn or tusk.

Fumio is a busy father of three and does lots of commission work and just enjoys carving in the workshop that stands in his vege garden with four tame hens walking around. (continue to About the Carver)

I take orders and am happy to do commission work.

Just send me your enquiries by Email.

I will send you related (or similar) works photos. Or make to order.
